Lectric XP4 Inner Tubes and Tires: What Fits

Four checks, in order of how much they protect you.

• The number is 20 x 3.0. That is what Lectric publishes for the XP4. A tube sold as 20x3.0, or as a range that includes 3.0, is the right shape. A tube sold as 20x4.0 is not, however similar the listing looks.
• Read the ETRTO code if the listing prints one. It looks like 64/76-406 or 76/89-406. The number after the dash is the bead seat diameter, and 406 is the 20 inch size this bike uses. The numbers before it are the width band in millimetres. This is the check that does not rely on marketing sizes, and the good listings print it.
• Buy the pair. The bike has two wheels, the tubes are sold in twos anyway, and the failure that sent you looking is the kind that recurs.
• Decide on sealant before you buy, not after. A self-sealing tube is the sensible answer to a puncture and the wrong answer to a worn tire. It is heavier. That is the trade, and it is the only real choice on this page once the size is settled.

It is worth being precise about why the wrong size is a real problem rather than an approximate fit, because "close enough" is exactly the reasoning that gets somebody to buy one.

A tube is not a structural part. It is a balloon that takes the shape of whatever contains it, which means an undersized tube stretches to fill the casing and an oversized one has nowhere to go. A 20x4.0 tube inside a 20 x 3.0 casing has more material than the space allows, so it folds against itself. A fold is a crease of rubber sitting between the tire and the rim under load, and that is the classic setup for a pinch failure.

The direction matters too. A tube rated for a band that includes 3.0, such as 20x2.5 to 3.0, is being used at the top of its range and is fine. A tube rated 20x3.5 to 4.0 is being used below the bottom of its range, which is not the same situation at all. When a listing gives a band, check that 3.0 is inside it rather than under it.

A number circulates as the XP4 tire pressure. We are not publishing it, and the reason is worth stating because it will save you trusting it somewhere else.

It comes from the range-test conditions in the manual, where it sits alongside a rider weight and an air temperature. That is a description of how Lectric measured the advertised range under controlled conditions. It is not a recommendation, and it is not presented as one.

What the manual actually instructs is to use the recommended pressure range printed on the tire sidewall. That range is on your bike right now, it is specific to the tire actually fitted, and it stays correct if you change tire. It is a better answer than the number, which is why Lectric gives it.

The casing, as a thing to buy. We set out to cover tires and tubes together and the tube half is straightforward, but nearly every third-party 20x3.0 tire casing we opened on 2026-07-27 was Currently unavailable, and Lectric does not sell the XP4 casing as a separate listing we can link to. That is why this page leads with tubes: it is what is actually buyable. If you need a casing, a bike shop is a better route than a search result, and we would rather say that than pad the page with listings you cannot order.
