DJI Mini 5 Pro Accessories and the 250 g Line
Almost every Mini 5 Pro accessory question comes back to one number: 250 g. The FAA exempts recreational drones that weigh less than that from registration, and the Mini 5 Pro is sold as an aircraft that sits just under the line, with its drone listing stating a weight of about 249.9 g give or take a few grams. Two accessories change that. A propeller guard and the higher-capacity Battery Plus each add enough weight to carry the drone over 250 g, and DJI says so in its own copy. That single fact is why these guides are organised the way they are.
There is a second fact that shapes everything here, and it is a commercial one. DJI does not sell the Mini 5 Pro in the United States, and its own product page does not resolve from a US request. Every Mini 5 Pro on Amazon is sold by a third-party seller, and DJI publishes no reachable page against which to check a fit. So this site does not link the drone, and it does not pretend to a DJI fitment source it cannot reach. What it does is open every accessory listing by hand, quote what the seller says it fits, label it as the sellers claim, and anchor the one thing that is genuinely sourced, which is the weight budget, to DJIs own words and to the FAA. The four categories, and which ones touch the weight line
Two of these categories are shadowed by the 250 g line and two are not, and that is the fastest way to understand the whole cluster.
- [ND filters](/dji-mini-5-pro-accessories/nd-filters/) add only grams and never move the drone across the line. The real question here is whether the Fly More Combo already gave you a set.
- [Cases](/dji-mini-5-pro-accessories/cases/) are luggage. They protect a packed drone and have no effect on flight weight at all. The one trap is reading a rating on the case as if it made the drone waterproof.
- [Propeller guards](/dji-mini-5-pro-accessories/propeller-guards/) cross the line. DJI states on its own guard listing that the aircraft weighs more than 250 g once a guard is fitted, so a guarded drone must be registered.
- [Batteries](/dji-mini-5-pro-accessories/batteries/) are the other lever. The higher-capacity Battery Plus is the part DJI says takes the aircraft over the line, so a bigger cell means a registered drone.
Why we do not link the drone, only the accessories
DJI sells the Mini 5 Pro in the US only through gray import sellers, and this site does not link a makers own hardware that reaches the country only through a gray channel. That rule also covers the three DJI-branded accessories in the scan, the 360 propeller guard and the two Intelligent Flight Batteries, which are themselves carried only by gray sellers. We name those parts and cite what they tell us, because two of them state the weight findings the whole cluster rests on, but there is nothing to link and no CTA on them.
The third-party accessories are a different matter. Filters, cases, guards and batteries from brands like STARTRC, FPVtosky, K&F Concept, NEEWER and others are ordinary retail sold through normal Amazon channels, and those are the products these guides recommend and link. The drone reaching the US grey does not change how its accessories reach it.
