Privacy policy
KitMyGear is a content site. We do not have accounts, logins, comment forms, or newsletters, and we set no tracking cookies of our own.
What we collect
- Hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard request logs - IP address, user agent, requested page - to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
- Page-view analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and reads no local storage. Per Vercel's published documentation it stores, with each page view: a timestamp, the URL and its dynamic path, the referring page, filtered query parameters, an approximate geolocation, the device type, and the operating system and browser with their versions. Visitors are counted using a hash derived from the request rather than a cookie, and that is discarded after 24 hours, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next.
- Anonymous outbound-click counts. When you use a product link (the /go/ addresses), we record which page the click came from, which product was clicked, and whether the destination is Amazon. That is recorded both in our server logs and as an event in Vercel Web Analytics, on the same cookieless basis as the page views above. No IP address, no cookie, no identifier that can be traced back to you.
Where links take you
Product links lead to retailers such as Amazon. Once you are on their site, their privacy policies apply; as an affiliate, the retailer may attribute your visit to us for commission purposes using their own cookies. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Data requests
Because we hold no personal data about visitors, there is normally nothing to export or delete. For any privacy question, contact contact@kitmygear.com and we will answer within a reasonable time.
