YETI Rambler Accessories: Lids That Actually Fit

YETI sells the Rambler name across bottles, tumblers, stackable cups, mugs, lowballs, straw mugs and travel mugs, and the lid that fits one rarely fits the next. YETI publishes which lid fits which vessel, one product page at a time, and has never put the answer in a single table. Asked on its own site whether the replacement lids are interchangeable, it answers, "It depends on the product range."

Owners have been asking for the missing table for years. One r/YetiCoolers thread is titled "Which Stronghold and/or Magslider lid fits Rambler 35oz travel mug? Is there a lid to drinkware chart that explains?" Another simply asks, "Anyone have an updated chart like this?" This page is that chart, built from YETI's own fit lists and every listing opened by hand on 2026-08-03.

The whole system reduces to three rules. Bottles share one thread, so any bottle cap fits any bottle. Tumblers and cups take a sized MagSlider or Straw Lid that does not cross to bottles or travel mugs. Travel Mugs take a Stronghold lid, a fourth part, and the one carrying a 2020 recall. Everything below is compiled from what YETI publishes and what owners report, with both linked; we do not test accessories physically.

  • The lid families YETI sells: MagSlider Lid (tumblers and cups), Straw Lid (tumblers and cups), Stronghold Lid (Travel Mugs), and the bottle-cap family that all share the bottle thread: Chug Cap, Flip Chug Cap, Bottle Straw Cap, Commuter Cap (the renamed HotShot), MagDock Cap and Cup Cap. Each is a different part and most do not cross between formats
  • The one rule for bottles: All YETI Rambler Bottles share the same thread size, so a Chug Cap, a Bottle Straw Cap and a Commuter Cap swap between them; bottle sizes are 18, 26, 36, 46 and 64 oz, plus the 12 oz Rambler Jr
  • Medium MagSlider fits: YETI: "This lid fits your Rambler: 10 oz Stackable Lowball, 10 oz Stackable Mug, 16 oz Stackable Cup, 20 oz Stackable Cup, 20 oz Tumbler, 24 oz Mug, 25 oz Straw Mug"
  • Medium MagSlider does NOT fit: YETI: "This lid is not compatible with Rambler Bottles or Jugs or Travel Mugs with the Stronghold Lid"

Which lid fits which Rambler, in one table

Vessels and sizes taken from YETI's own MagSlider, Straw Lid, Chug Cap and Stronghold pages, read 2026-08-03.

| Vessel | Sizes YETI lists | Drinking lid | Straw option | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Bottle | 12, 18, 26, 36, 46, 64 oz | Chug / Commuter Cap (any fits any) | Bottle Straw Cap (any fits any) | | Tumbler | 10, 20, 30 oz | MagSlider (Small 10, Medium 20, Large 30) | tumbler Straw Lid | | Stackable Cup | 8, 16, 20, 30 oz | MagSlider (Small 8, Medium 16 and 20, Large 30) | tumbler Straw Lid | | Stackable Mug | 10, 14 oz | MagSlider (Medium 10, Large 14) | tumbler Straw Lid | | Mug / Lowball | 10, 24 oz | MagSlider (Medium) | tumbler Straw Lid | | Straw Mug | 25, 35, 42 oz | MagSlider (Medium 25, Large 35 and 42) | comes with a straw | | Espresso Mug | 6 oz | MagSlider (Small) | none | | Wine Tumbler | 10 oz | MagSlider (Small only) | none | | Travel Mug | 20, 30 oz | Stronghold lid (its own part) | Stronghold straw option |

Read the table by format first, size second. The bottle row is the easy one: every cap fits every bottle. The tumbler and cup rows are where the money is lost, because the size is a Small, Medium or Large, not the ounce printed on the vessel, and because a Travel Mug sits in its own row no tumbler lid reaches.

The three rules that cover almost everything

Bottles share one thread. Every Rambler bottle, 18 through 64 oz plus the 12 oz Jr, takes the same caps: Chug, Flip Chug, Bottle Straw, Commuter and the rest are chosen by style, never by size. YETI states it: you "can swap a Rambler Chug Cap for a Bottle Straw Cap or a Commuter Cap seamlessly." Full detail on the lid replacement guide.

Tumblers and cups take a sized MagSlider or Straw Lid. Small, Medium or Large, matched to the mouth, and YETI states it "is not compatible with Rambler Bottles or Jugs or Travel Mugs with the Stronghold Lid." The 20 oz Tumbler is a Medium, the 30 oz a Large, and the 10 oz Wine Tumbler is the one only the Small fits. The straw lids guide covers the straw version of the same map.

Travel Mugs take a Stronghold lid. A twist-and-lock part for the 20 oz and 30 oz Travel Mugs, and the only lid in the line with a recall: the 20 oz Travel Mug Stronghold lid was recalled in 2020 (CPSC 21-020) because the magnet slider can eject with hot liquid.

The traps, and why this page keeps the wrong fits in

Three mistakes account for most wrong purchases, and this site keeps the does-not-fit answers on the page rather than hiding them, because the wrong fit is half the question.

  • The 20 oz trap. A 20 oz Tumbler lid, a 20 oz Rambler bottle cap and a 20 oz Travel Mug Stronghold lid are three parts with one number.
  • The Stronghold mixup. A Travel Mug is not a tumbler; owners ask outright whether "Regular Magslider Pieces Work On Stronghold Lids," and they do not.
  • The four-brand title. A tumbler lid is sized to a mouth several brands share, so a title naming YETI, RTIC, Ozark Trail and Ember is telling you a diameter, not a fit.

Pick your format, then your size, and the aisle stops being random.

Questions owners ask

Is there a YETI lid compatibility chart?

Not from YETI. It publishes which vessels each lid fits on the individual product pages, and answers "it depends on the product range" when asked directly whether lids are interchangeable. Owners ask for a single chart repeatedly on r/YetiCoolers. The table on this page is compiled from those per-product fit lists.

What is the difference between a MagSlider and a Stronghold lid?

The MagSlider is the spill-resistant magnetic lid for tumblers and cups, sold in Small, Medium and Large. The Stronghold is a twist-and-lock lid designed only for the 20 oz and 30 oz Travel Mugs. They are different parts, their pieces do not interchange, and the 20 oz Stronghold Travel Mug lid carries a 2020 recall.

How do I know if I need a Small, Medium or Large lid?

By the vessel, not the ounce. Small fits the 6 oz Espresso, the 8 oz Stackable Cup and the 10 oz Wine Tumbler and Tumbler; Medium fits the 20 oz Tumbler and the 10 to 25 oz cups and mugs; Large fits the 30 oz Tumbler and the 30 to 42 oz cups and straw mugs. The lid-replacement guide lists every vessel in each size.

Do you test these accessories yourselves?

No. We compile YETI's own fit statements and owner reports and link both so you can check them. Every product listing across these guides was opened by hand on 2026-08-03 and its title, availability, rating count and feature bullets read back. Nothing has been fitted to a cup by us.

We start from the spec sheet

Every guide begins with the manufacturer's own numbers for the YETI Rambler drinkware— rack ratings, tube sizes, clearances — each linked to where it was published.

We read what owners hit

Forum and community reports fill the gaps the spec sheet leaves, and they are labelled as owner reports, never as tested fact.

We say when it doesn't fit

Amazon pays us on clicks, so the honest "skip it" rows are the point. They stay in the tables.
