DJI Osmo Action 6 Accessories: What Fits, What Carries Over

The question behind most searches for Osmo Action 6 accessories is really a question about the Action 5 Pro: do the parts I already own still work? DJI answers it on its own accessory compatibility list, and the answer is less friendly than the cameras look. The Action 6 body is larger on every axis than the Action 5 Pro, and DJI marks several of the older camera's parts as not working with the new one, including its 60 m waterproof case, its ND filter set and its Quick-Release Adapter Mount. Other parts do carry over, the Extreme Battery Plus and the mounts that hang off the adapter among them.

These guides are built from that list, the Action 6 manual and spec page, one owner write-up and Amazon listings opened by hand, each dated on its page. Where DJI publishes nothing, such as a depth rating for a third-party housing or a holding force for a magnetic adapter, the guide says the figure is the seller's claim. Parts that do not fit stay in the guides with the reason attached, because on a camera whose own accessories changed shape, knowing what to avoid saves more money than another recommendation. Nothing here comes from testing the parts ourselves.

Action 5 Pro to Action 6: what carries over

Read from DJI's Osmo series accessory compatibility list, with the Action 6 column first. Each row links to the guide that covers the category.

| Part | Action 6 | Action 5 Pro | | --- | --- | --- | | 60 m Waterproof Case | No, the Action 6 has its own case | Yes | | Action 6 Waterproof Case | Yes | No | | Quick-Release Adapter Mount | No, the Action 6 uses the Dual-Direction adapter | Yes | | Dual-Direction Quick-Release Adapter Mount | Yes | No | | Chest strap, handlebar, suction cup, helmet chin and backpack strap mounts | Yes | Yes | | Extreme Battery Plus (1950 mAh) | Yes | Yes | | Multifunctional Battery Case 3 | Yes | Yes | | Multifunctional Charging Handle | No | Yes |

The guides carry the detail and the sources: cases, mounts and batteries. The ND filter set is the same story, covered in the ND filter guide.

The four guides

  • [Cases](/dji-osmo-action-6-accessories/cases/) splits into three jobs: a dive housing, a cage and a carry case. DJI rates only its own Waterproof Case for depth with this camera, so a third-party depth figure is the seller stating it.
  • [Mounts](/dji-osmo-action-6-accessories/mounts/) turn on the Quick-Release Slot and the Dual-Direction adapter that replaces the Action 5 Pro one. A third-party adapter that claims both cameras is the seller's word.
  • [ND filters](/dji-osmo-action-6-accessories/nd-filters/) come in snap-on and screw-in kinds, and the screw-in kits replace the stock Glass Lens Cover.
  • [Batteries](/dji-osmo-action-6-accessories/batteries/) share the 1950 mAh pack with the Action 5 Pro. DJI's manual tells you not to use non-official batteries, and the guide quotes it next to the third-party kits.

How we read fitment on this camera

DJI's own documents rank first: the spec page, the manual, the accessory list and the product pages. An owner write-up comes next, and a seller's listing copy last, labelled as the seller's claim. We link a DJI part only where DJI sells it through ordinary channels; the official Waterproof Case is sold by DJI directly, so its link goes to DJI and carries no commission. Prices are not shown, because they change faster than a guide can be rechecked.

Questions owners ask

Do Osmo Action 5 Pro accessories fit the Osmo Action 6?

Some do and some do not. DJI's compatibility list ticks the Extreme Battery Plus and the mounts that hang off the adapter for both cameras, and crosses out the 60 m Waterproof Case, the ND filter set and the Quick-Release Adapter Mount for the Action 6. The table above has the rows.

Is the Osmo Action 6 bigger than the Action 5 Pro?

Yes, on every axis. DJI lists the Action 6 at 72.8 x 47.2 x 33.1 mm, so a case or cage sized for the older camera is not assumed to fit. The cases guide has both bodies side by side.

How deep is the Osmo Action 6 waterproof?

To 20 m on its own and to 60 m with the Osmo Action 6 Waterproof Case, per DJI's spec page. Without a case the Shutter/Record button disables itself below 14 m.

Can I use third-party batteries in the Osmo Action 6?

DJI's manual says not to use non-official batteries and that DJI takes no responsibility for damage they cause. The batteries guide lists the third-party kits and says which capacity figures are the sellers'.

We start from the spec sheet

Every guide begins with the manufacturer's own numbers for the DJI Osmo Action 6— rack ratings, tube sizes, clearances — each linked to where it was published.

We read what owners hit

Forum and community reports fill the gaps the spec sheet leaves, and they are labelled as owner reports, never as tested fact.

We say when it doesn't fit

Amazon pays us on clicks, so the honest "skip it" rows are the point. They stay in the tables.
