Cases That Fit the DJI Osmo Pocket 3

There is no shortage of cases for this camera. There is a shortage of listings that answer the only question that matters, which is whether the case closes around the camera in the state you actually keep it in. An Osmo Pocket 3 in the wild is rarely a bare camera. It usually has the DJI protective cover on it, often has the threaded handle fitted, and if you bought the Creator Combo it travels with a battery handle, a mini tripod and a microphone transmitter that all need somewhere to live.

DJI is no help here, and says so by omission: it documents its own protective cover in detail and publishes nothing whatsoever about anybody else's case. What it does publish is the constraint that governs the category, which is that the gimbal must be unobstructed when the camera is powered on. So this guide does the one thing the listings can be made to do: it reads them for the sentence that states what they swallow, quotes that sentence, and marks it as the seller talking rather than DJI. Two of the cases below tell you what they will not take, which is rarer and more useful.

The bullets repeat it and add elastic pouches for the wide-angle lens and the Mic 2 clip magnet. That fit is the seller stating it, not DJI. What DJI does publish is the two parts it has to swallow: the Protective Cover and the Handle With 1/4 inch Thread both ship in the standard box as well as the Creator Combo.

Boobowl
Best for the Creator Combo02

Boobowl Hard Case for Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo

Its first bullet states the case accommodates the camera "with its original protective hard shell installed", and its storage bullet names the camera, battery handle or threaded handle, mini tripod and Mic 2 transmitter. Seller-stated fit. You already own a carrying bag if you bought the Creator Combo: DJI puts the Osmo Pocket 3 Carrying Bag in that box and not in the standard box.

NEEWER

The seller itemises 4 ND filter slots, 2 wide-angle lens slots, 2 microSD slots, a Mic 2 transmitter slot, a Handle With 1/4 inch Thread slot, a mini tripod slot and a battery handle slot, and states a case size of 206 x 160 x 78 mm at 450 g. All of that is the seller. The IP67 rating is a claim about the box it ships, not about the camera: DJI publishes no IP rating for the Osmo Pocket 3 at all and answers "No" to whether it is waterproof, so nothing in this case makes the camera water resistant.

SMALLRIG

SMALLRIG 5610 All-in-One Hard Shell Case

Its compatibility bullet is unusually candid and is quoted here as the seller's own statement: "this case is designed to be used with your Osmo Pocket 3 installed inside its original DJI protective case ... It supports standard thin filters (ND/CPL, 2mm or under) but is not compatible with thicker wide-angle or macro lenses." The mic mount bullet adds that it is not for the DJI Mic, Mic 3 or Mic Mini. It fits the camera. Read the lens sentence before you buy if you own a wide-angle lens.

Seller-stated: a precise fit for the camera body and gimbal, storage for 2 magnetic ND or CPL filters and 2 wide-angle or expansion lenses, and access to charging, the card slot and the lanyard point while cased. Read that lens claim carefully, because it is about lenses stored in their own slots and not about a lens left attached to the camera. Nothing here is a DJI statement.

Bullet one ends with the seller's own parenthetical: "(Note: the battery handle can't be put in; only the 1/4 handle can be stored)". Stated weight 150 g. That negative is more useful than most of the positives in this category, because DJI puts the battery handle in the Creator Combo and the threaded handle in both boxes.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Protective Cover

In both boxes, not sold separately, and the only cover whose behaviour DJI actually documents.

The manual documents dedicated storage locations inside the cover for the Black Mist Filter, the wide-angle lens and the DJI Mic 2 transmitter, and states that with the wide-angle lens attached "the handheld gimbal camera can be stored in the Osmo Pocket 3 Protective Cover directly". No link: DJI does not sell the Protective Cover as a separate product and we found no DJI-byline listing for it on 2026-07-26. Owner caution, from r/osmopocket and not from DJI: two owners report a hard-plastic cover leaving white scuff marks on the camera head, and two report the cover pressing the power button in a bag and spinning the gimbal inside it.

The Osmo Pocket 3 appears nowhere on the listing, in the title or the bullets. A moulded case is only as compatible as its mould. DJI publishes one body dimension set for the Osmo Pocket 3, 139.7 x 42.2 x 33.5 mm, and a shell cut around a different camera is not sized to it.

What to check before you buy

Work out what you are packing before you compare cases, because that decides everything.

  • Which box you bought. The standard camera comes with a protective cover and a threaded handle. The Creator Combo adds seven items on top, including a battery handle, a mini tripod and a carrying bag. Combo owners already own a bag, so a case is a replacement rather than a first purchase.
  • Whether the cover stays on. The best listings say explicitly that they take the camera with the DJI cover installed. That is the difference between packing in one motion and stripping the camera down every time.
  • Which handle. One case here states that the battery handle will not go in and only the threaded one will. That is a non-issue for a standard-box owner and a deal breaker for a Combo owner.
  • Whether you own a wide-angle lens. DJI documents that its own cover closes with the DJI lens attached. That verdict does not carry across to anyone else, and one snap-on shell here says in writing that thicker lenses are out.
  • What a waterproof rating covers. Every waterproof claim in this category is about the box, not the camera. The camera has no rating of any kind.

The wide-angle question, and why two sellers disagree

Two listings here look like they contradict each other. One snap-on shell states it takes thin filters, 2 mm or under, and is not compatible with thicker wide-angle or macro lenses. A hard shell case from another brand advertises storage for two wide-angle or expansion lenses. Both are true and they are answering different questions.

The shell is talking about what can be attached to the camera while the camera is inside it. The case is talking about detached lenses sitting in their own slots. If you keep a lens on the camera, the shell rules it out and the case never claimed to allow it.

DJI answers this for exactly one product, its own protective cover, where the manual says the camera can be stored with the wide-angle lens attached. Nobody else has published an equivalent statement, so for every third-party product this remains a seller claim rather than a verified fit.

What we could not verify

We have not measured a single one of these cases and we have not put a camera in one. Every fit statement here is the seller's, read off the listing on the date shown and attributed to them. Two specific gaps are worth naming. DJI never says where the ventilation area on the camera body is, only that you must not cover it, which means nobody can give you a defensible verdict on a fully enclosed shell. And DJI publishes no IP rating for the camera at all, so a diving housing has no official fitment anchor to check against and we have not recommended one. If you own one of these and it does or does not close the way the listing claims, tell us and we will publish it with your report as the source.

Questions owners ask

Does the Osmo Pocket 3 come with a case?

It comes with the DJI protective cover, in the standard box and in the Creator Combo. The Combo also includes a carrying bag. So a standard-box owner has a cover and no bag, and a Combo owner has both.

Will a case close with the wide-angle lens attached?

DJI's own protective cover does, and the manual says so. No third-party maker has published an equivalent statement, and one snap-on shell here states the opposite about itself. Treat it as unanswered outside DJI parts.

Is any case waterproof enough to swim with?

Nothing here makes the camera waterproof. DJI answers no to whether the Osmo Pocket 3 is waterproof and publishes no IP rating for it, so a waterproof claim on a case is about the box, not what is inside it.

Can I leave a hard cover on the camera permanently?

Owners do, but two on r/osmopocket report a hard plastic cover leaving white scuff marks on the camera head, and two report the cover pressing the power button in a bag and spinning the gimbal inside it. That is owner experience rather than a DJI position, and DJI publishes none.
