DJI Osmo Action 6 Case: Dive Housing, Cage or Carry

Which case you need depends on the job. For diving past 20 m, the DJI Osmo Action 6 Waterproof Case is the one housing DJI rates for this camera, at 60 m. For protecting the edges and adding mounting points while you shoot, you want a cage. For the bag, you want a carry case, and the one thing to check there is whether it holds a caged camera.

Your old Action 5 Pro housing is not a shortcut. DJI's own compatibility list marks the Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case, the Diving Accessory Kit and the Protective Frame as not working with the Action 6, and the Action 6 body is larger than the Action 5 Pro, at 72.8 x 47.2 x 33.1 mm against 70.5 x 44.2 x 32.8 mm.

Seven parts were checked for this guide: the DJI case, one third-party dive housing, one cage and four carry cases, plus DJI's older 60 m case as the documented wrong answer. Every non-DJI fit below is the seller's own statement, read off the listing on the date shown, because DJI publishes nothing about third-party housings, cages or bags.

  • Fits. DJI Osmo Action 6 Waterproof Case — the only housing DJI rates for depth with this camera: 60 m, 94.7 x 45.9 x 84.1 mm, 110 g
  • Does not fit. Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case (Action 5 Pro, 4, 3) — crossed out for the Action 6 on DJI's own compatibility list, as are the Diving Accessory Kit and the Protective Frame
  • Conditional fit. Third-party housing depth ratings — a 60 m figure on a non-DJI housing is the seller stating it; DJI publishes that rating only for its own case
  • Conditional fit. Camera body size — 72.8 x 47.2 x 33.1 mm, larger than the Action 5 Pro at 70.5 x 44.2 x 32.8 mm, so a case sized for the older camera is not assumed to fit
  • Note. Bare camera without a case — waterproof to 20 m, and the Shutter/Record button disables itself below 14 m without a waterproof case

Read on DJI USA's own product page on 2026-10-16: "Osmo Action 6 Waterproof Case", compatibility "Osmo Action 6", dimensions 94.7 x 45.9 x 84.1 mm, weight 110 g, six pairs of anti-fog inserts in the box, "waterproof protection up to 60 meters". DJI's compatibility list ticks the Osmo Action 6 for this case and crosses it for the Osmo Action 5 Pro. A maker-only part: the link is not tagged and earns nothing.

TELESIN Waterproof Case with Anti-Fog for DJI Osmo Action 6

A housing built for this camera by an established action-camera brand, with a tempered glass window and a quick-release bracket. Its 60 m figure is the seller's own, so it is the pick for shallow snorkelling more than for deep dives.

The first bullet says it is "Specially designed for DJI Osmo Action 6" and the second states 60 m, with a tempered glass lens and a PMMA body. That depth and that fit are the seller stating them, not DJI; the only 60 m rating DJI publishes is for its own case.

The first bullet states it is "designed specifically for DJI Osmo Action 6"; the second lists a cold shoe mount, two quick release interfaces and three 1/4"-20 positioning holes, and a later one says the cage snaps on without tools and leaves every button, port and the battery side reachable. The kit adds a silicone lens cover, a wrist strap and an Allen wrench. A caged camera needs a carry case that says it holds one: two of the carry cases below say in writing that they do not.

The listing says the upper compartment takes the camera (camera only), the 1.5 m extension pole, a "third-party cage (diving case/custom position)", two batteries, a charging case and four filters. Seller's statement; the cage it names is a third-party one, not a DJI part. "Waterproof" in the title describes the shell, not a depth rating.

Read on DJI's Osmo Series accessory compatibility list on 2026-10-16: the row "Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case" is ticked for the Osmo Action 5 Pro, 4 and 3 and crossed for the Osmo Action 6, which has its own "Osmo Action 6 Waterproof Case" row. The same list crosses out the Osmo Action Diving Accessory Kit and the Horizontal-Vertical Protective Frame for the Action 6. The Action 6 body (72.8 x 47.2 x 33.1 mm) is larger than the Action 5 Pro's (70.5 x 44.2 x 32.8 mm), and an owner write-up notes the lens housing was redesigned.

Dive housing, cage or carry case

Dive housing. The camera is waterproof to 20 m on its own. DJI rates it to 60 m with the Osmo Action 6 Waterproof Case, which measures 94.7 x 45.9 x 84.1 mm, weighs 110 g and ships with six pairs of anti-fog inserts. DJI tells you to close the battery compartment cover and the USB-C port cover and tighten the Glass Lens Cover before getting it wet, and the manual adds that the Shutter/Record button disables itself below 14 m on a camera with no case. A third-party housing may be cheaper, but its depth figure is the seller's claim.

Cage. A cage such as the SmallRig 5887 does not seal the camera. It frames it and adds a cold shoe, two quick-release interfaces and three 1/4"-20 holes. Treat it as a mounting decision, then pick a carry case that says it holds a caged camera.

Carry case. Two of the four carry cases here state their limit outright. One is titled "No for Cage" and another says the camera goes in without the external protective frame. The two that suit a caged setup are the hard dual-layer case, which lists a third-party cage among its contents. The other cases suit the bare camera.

What to check before you buy

  • Name the camera. Buy a housing or bag whose title says Osmo Action 6. "Action 5 Pro" alone is not enough, and DJI lists its own two generations of case as separate parts.
  • Decide the depth. Under 20 m the camera needs no housing. Past it, DJI sells one rated 60 m. Any other housing is a seller's number.
  • Cage or no cage. If the camera lives in a frame, check the carry case lists a cage. Two say they do not.
  • Filters and combo parts. One carry case cuts its filter slots for DJI's own circular filters and warns about variances with others. Which filters fit the camera is on the Osmo Action 6 ND filters page.
  • Dry the seal. DJI's manual says to keep the rubber seal clean, dry the case, place an anti-fog insert in it and soak it about 5 minutes before the first real dive.

What we could not verify

No third-party housing here has a depth test behind it, only the seller's number. We found no owner report for any of these six listings, so the fit statements are sellers' own. An owner write-up of the Action 6 notes it looks very like the Action 5 Pro but has a redesigned lens housing, which is the reason to buy by camera name. If you have sealed one of these housings or fitted a cage in a carry case, tell us and we will add your report as the source.

Questions owners ask

Does my Osmo Action 5 Pro waterproof case fit the Action 6?

No, according to DJI. Its compatibility list ticks the Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case for the Action 5 Pro and crosses it for the Action 6, which has its own Waterproof Case. The Action 6 body is also larger.

How deep can the Osmo Action 6 go with and without a case?

To 20 m on its own and to 60 m with the DJI Osmo Action 6 Waterproof Case, per DJI's spec page. The Shutter/Record button disables itself below 14 m on a camera with no case.

Do I need a cage for the Osmo Action 6?

No. A cage adds protection at the edges and mounting points such as a cold shoe and 1/4"-20 holes, but it is optional and it does not seal the camera. If you buy one, check your carry case holds a caged camera.

Can a carry case hold the camera with a cage on?

Only some can. One case here is titled "No for Cage" and another says the camera goes in without its frame. The hard dual-layer case lists a third-party cage among its contents.
