Legion Go 2 Docks: Ports, Power and What Fits

Docks are among the most searched Legion Go 2 accessories, and for the first year of the machine this guide did not exist, because there was nothing honest to put in it: our launch scan found exactly one dock listing, and its own title named the 2023 machine. What has changed is not the Amazon titles. It is that the evidence finally exists somewhere: JSAUX now lists the Legion Go 2 by name in the compatibility charts on its own site, and owners have started reporting how Lenovo's own dock behaves on a Gen 2, including the one fit problem a spec sheet would never tell you.

The machine side has been published all along, and it contains the trap this page exists to flag. The Legion Go 2 has four USB-C ports that look identical. Lenovo's PSREF sheet lists two of them as USB4 40Gbps with DisplayPort and USB PD 65-100W, and the other two as charging only. Plug any dock, however good, into the wrong pair and it will charge the machine and do absolutely nothing else.

Every dock below was opened by hand, and none of their Amazon titles names your machine. That is the state of this aisle, so each entry says exactly who does claim Go 2 support, where that claim lives, and how strong it is.

  • Note. Powerthe USB4 ports accept USB PD 65-100W and the in-box adapter is 65W, so 65W is the floor Lenovo ships and 100W the ceiling the port takes

Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Hub Dock

Lenovo's own dock, carried on owner reports rather than a Lenovo statement: one calls it flawless on a Go 2, one confirms it fits with a tight connection and warns a thick case blocks the plug.

If use external cover, cannot fit the usbc, must do a cut-away". Owner reports, not a Lenovo statement; the machine side is official, per the PSREF USB4 port specification.

The smaller JSAUX03

JSAUX 5-in-1 Docking Station, HB0602

Same maker-stated Go 2 compatibility as the 6-in-1 from the same comparison chart, with fewer ports for less money, for the desk that only needs video out and charging.

The maker's comparison chart row naming the Go 2 is for the HB0602S revision; the Amazon listing carries the HB0602 family name with the upgraded HDMI figure in its title. We state that seam rather than smooth it.

Pick 404

JSAUX 12-in-1 RGB Docking Station, HB1201S

The desk-setup option: DisplayPort alongside HDMI, card readers, more USB, and lighting you can turn off. Its Go 2 evidence is one notch weaker than the two docks above and we say so: JSAUX files this family under the Legion Go 2 filter of its own dock collection, rather than naming the machine in a spec chart. For most buyers the two docks above answer the question; this one is for the desk that needs the extra ports.

JSAUX's store tags the RGB dock family "Legion Go 2" and files it in its Legion Go 2 collection filter, read the same day; that is a maker categorisation, a weaker statement than the spec-chart naming the HB0602S and HB0603S carry, which is why this dock ranks below them here. The black 8-in-1 sibling read Currently unavailable the same day and is not listed.

What to check before you buy

A dock purchase for this machine is three questions, and the Amazon title answers none of them.

  • Find the maker's claim, not the listing's. No dock listing title names the Legion Go 2. JSAUX's compatibility charts on its own site do; for other makers, check their site before assuming a Steam Deck dock covers you.
  • Know which ports are which before it arrives. The two USB4 ports carry video and data; the other two USB-C ports charge only. If the dock seems dead on arrival, try the other pair before returning it.
  • Match the wattage window. Lenovo ships a 65W adapter and the port accepts up to 100W, so a dock stating 100W power delivery covers the ceiling. We make no claim about charging speed under load; nobody publishes one.
  • Using a case or grips? Expect interference. One owner report on Lenovo's own dock says a thick cover blocks the USB-C plug outright. No maker publishes stacked dimensions, so assume the dock was sized for a bare machine.
  • A display claim is the dock maker's, not Lenovo's. The machine's port is DP 2.1; what reaches your monitor also depends on the dock's HDMI version and cable. Treat every refresh-rate figure as the maker's stated spec.

Nobody names this machine on Amazon, and what that means

The strangest fact about this category survives the restock: you still cannot find the Legion Go 2 named in a dock listing title.

Why that is not a no-fit. A dock talks to the machine over USB-C, and the Go 2's USB4 ports carry DisplayPort out, per Lenovo's own specification. The universal handheld docks that recite Steam Deck and ROG Ally are not physically wrong for this machine. They are unverified for it, which is a different thing, and this page only lists docks whose maker or whose owners actually say Go 2.

The open question we are not answering. Lenovo publishes that two ports are charging only. No Lenovo document we have read says what happens when a dock is attached to one, beyond the charging itself, and we have not tested it, because we do not test. The safe reading is the one above: video and data need the USB4 pair.

The docks we left out. Two verified in-stock docks, a Kstkry 6-in-1 and a 10-in-1 with a cooling fan and an M.2 slot, claim only the 2023 Legion Go by name, with no maker statement covering the Gen 2 that we could find. They stay off the list until someone who makes or owns them says otherwise, which is the standard everything on the list had to meet.

Questions owners ask

Which port does a dock plug into on the Legion Go 2?

One of the two USB4 ports. Lenovo lists four USB-C ports on this machine: two are USB4 40Gbps with DisplayPort and USB PD 65-100W, and two support charging only. A dock on the charging-only pair will charge the machine and nothing more.

Does the Lenovo Legion Go dock work with the Go 2?

Owners say yes, Lenovo says nothing. The listing names the 2023 Legion Go, and we found no Lenovo document adding the Gen 2. Two owner reviews report using it with a Go 2: one flawlessly, one with a tight fit and a warning that a thick case blocks the USB-C plug.

Do Steam Deck docks work with the Legion Go 2?

Often, but verify per dock. These are USB-C docks and the Go 2's USB4 ports carry DisplayPort out, so the plumbing is standard. JSAUX names the Go 2 in its own compatibility charts; for any other maker, look for the claim on their site rather than assuming.

How many watts should a Legion Go 2 dock deliver?

Lenovo ships a 65W adapter and lists the port as accepting USB PD 65-100W, so 65W is the floor the machine ships with and 100W is the ceiling it accepts. We make no claim about charge speed while gaming; Lenovo does not publish one.
