For the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X

ROG Xbox Ally X Power Banks: Which Port, Which Watts

Choose a bank that states USB-C PD of 65 W or more on a single port and plug it into either top USB-C port. That is the whole published rule. ASUS ships the ROG Xbox Ally X with a 65 W Type-C adapter at 20 V and 3.25 A, lists power delivery on both of its USB-C ports, and gives the USB4 port Power Delivery 3.0. ASUS publishes no input ceiling, no charging rate under load and no list of approved banks, and we found no independent charging test of this machine, so nothing here claims a speed.

The bar matters because the search results do not sort by it. The six banks on this page come from the "rog xbox ally x power bank" search; five state a USB-C PD port at 65 W or above on their makers' figures, and one states 22.5 W as its fastest port and no USB-C PD output at all. It stays on the page as the shape to recognise.

Two of the five name this machine: JSAUX's 65 W bank lists the ROG Xbox Ally X, and JSAUX's ModCase set straps a 65 W bank to the back of the shell. One has a reviewer behind it: Windows Central's Xbox Ally pick is UGREEN's 145 W bank, which puts 140 W on its first port. Anker's two Prime banks put 140 W on each USB-C port and name no handheld. Every figure below is the maker's, read on the date shown; we test nothing.

Sourced

ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X · the two top USB-C ports, USB4 on the left and USB 3.2 Gen 2 on the right

  • Fits. Banks stating USB-C PD 65 W or more on one port — equal to or above the 65 W Type-C adapter ASUS ships; a spec match, not a tested pairing
  • Conditional fit. Charging speed, headroom and a ceiling — ASUS publishes no input maximum and no wattage under load, so a 140 W port is headroom on paper and no bank here carries a speed claim
  • Does not fit. Banks with no USB-C PD output figure — the VRURC bank states 22.5 W as its fastest port and lists its USB-C port as an input; a third of the adapter ASUS ships
  • Conditional fit. The cable — UGREEN and Anker both say a 5A cable is needed for their 140 W figure; with a lesser cable the port delivers less
  • Note. Which USB-C port — ASUS lists power delivery on both; the USB4 port carries Power Delivery 3.0 and sits on the left per a hands-on
  • Note. In the box — a 65 W Type-C adapter, 20 V at 3.25 A; ASUS says whether one is included varies by country, region and model; the battery is 80 Wh

VRURC 20000mAh Power Bank with Wall Plug

Opened and read back on 2026-10-21: "VRURC Portable Charger 20000mAh, Fast Charging Power Bank USB C, 4 Output 2 Input", VRURC Store, sold by VRURC-US, Add to Cart present. The listing: "The USB port of the portable power bank supports up to 22.5W fast charging output"; a built-in AC wall plug; built-in micro, USB-C and other cables; "a USB input & output port, and a USB C input port"; 20000 mAh. No USB-C PD output figure is stated. ASUS ships a 65 W Type-C adapter and lists Power Delivery on both USB-C ports; ASUS publishes no minimum, so "does not fit" here means the bank states no USB-C PD output and its fastest port is a third of the adapter's rate, not that anyone tested it failing. The spec row above cites ASUS for the bar; the bank's figures are the listing's.

official

How many watts does the Xbox Ally X take from a bank?

ASUS states the adapter, not the limit. The spec page lists a 65 W Type-C AC adapter with a 20 V, 3.25 A output, and marks both USB-C ports for power delivery, the USB4 port with Power Delivery 3.0. It gives no maximum input the machine will draw, no figure for charging while gaming and no minimum. The battery is 80 Wh, which is the number to hold a bank's Wh against.

So the bar is 65 W on one USB-C port, and anything above it is headroom on paper. A bank that states 140 W on a port, as UGREEN and both Anker Prime banks do, is not documented to charge this machine faster; it is documented to cover the published figure with margin, and to keep covering it while a second device shares the bank. A bank that states 65 W matches the adapter and has nothing spare.

Read the per-port figure, not the total. UGREEN's 145 W is 140 W on USB-C1, 65 W on USB-C2 and 22.5 W on USB-A. Anker's 300 W and 220 W totals each resolve to 140 W per USB-C port. JSAUX's banks state 65 W on their one USB-C port.

Which USB-C port do you charge from?

Either, by ASUS's spec page: both top ports are listed with power delivery. The USB4 port is the one ASUS marks with Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, and a hands-on that handled the machine puts the USB4 port on the left and the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port on the right of the top edge. ASUS states no charging preference between them and no bank maker here does either.

The standard ROG Xbox Ally has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports with power delivery and no USB4, so the same banks apply to it on the same basis; the difference is inside, in a 60 Wh battery against the X's 80 Wh.

What to check before you buy a power bank

  • One port at 65 W or more. Read the per-port USB-C PD figure. A total across ports is not what reaches the handheld.
  • Headroom if you share the bank. A 140 W port keeps covering 65 W with a phone on the other port; a 65 W port is the adapter and nothing more.
  • Capacity against 80 Wh. The machine's battery is 80 Wh. JSAUX's bank is 74 Wh, UGREEN's 90 Wh, Anker's 72.36 Wh and 99.75 Wh. None of those is a charge count; conversion losses are unpublished.
  • The cable. UGREEN and Anker tie their 140 W figures to a 5A cable and ship one. Use it.
  • Strapped or bagged. JSAUX's ModCase strap holds a slim bank to the shell for play while charging; a 513 g UGREEN or an Anker Prime lives in the bag. The cases guide says which carry a bank with the charger.
  • Docks are the other way to power it. ASUS's own docks pass up to 100 W; the docks guide covers them.

What we could not verify

We found no independent charging test of the ROG Xbox Ally X and no ASUS figure for its maximum input or its draw under load, so every bank here is a match between two published specs. Only JSAUX names this machine; Anker and UGREEN name no handheld. The one reviewer report, Windows Central's, covers the UGREEN bank and gives no measurement. Whether the machine charges faster from a 140 W port than from a 65 W one is unpublished, and we did not test it. If you have run one of these through a session, tell us and we will add your report as the source.

Questions owners ask

How many watts does a ROG Xbox Ally X power bank need?

At least 65 W of USB-C PD on a single port, which is the adapter ASUS ships, at 20 V and 3.25 A. ASUS publishes no maximum input and no minimum, so a 140 W port is headroom on paper and a 65 W port is the adapter with nothing spare.

Which port should a power bank use on the Xbox Ally X?

Either of the two top USB-C ports; ASUS lists power delivery on both. The USB4 port, on the left per a hands-on, is the one ASUS marks with Power Delivery 3.0. ASUS states no preference.

Can a power bank fully charge the ROG Xbox Ally X?

The battery is 80 Wh, per ASUS. The banks here state 74 Wh, 90 Wh, 72.36 Wh and 99.75 Wh. Conversion losses are not published by any maker, so none of those is a charge count.

Does a 65 W power bank charge the Xbox Ally X while playing?

Nobody has published it. ASUS gives no wattage under load for this machine and we found no independent test, so a 65 W bank meets the adapter figure and that is all that is documented.

Does the JSAUX ModCase power bank fit the Xbox Ally X?

JSAUX says so: the set is built for the 2025 ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, with a 65 W, 20000 mAh bank the expansion strap holds to the back. JSAUX excludes the 2026 X20.
