NINKI names the Xbox Ally X alone, with the 2025 release year; HIERYQHE names the Xbox Ally and Ally X 2025. Both are the lowest-bulk protection on the page and add the least to how the machine sits in a bag; neither publishes how much.

None is measured, so here is who says what. dbrand says the Killswitch leaves "all vents and ports uncovered", and Windows Central, in a roundup updated 2025-11-24, says it adheres to the device's shape "without limiting access to vents or ports". That is the one shell here with a second voice behind the claim.

JSAUX says the ModCase's cutouts keep "buttons, ports, and vents easy to access". HIERYQHE claims alignment "on every port, trigger, vent and button" and a ventilated design; it is the only listing to name the trigger. JDDWIN says ports, buttons, vents and speakers stay open. NINKI's wording is "breathable with continuous heat dispersion". Miimall says every port and button stays reachable and does not mention vents. YAJOJO says the same and does not mention vents either.

What the shell has to clear is on ASUS's spec page and in the hands-on: two USB-C ports on the top edge between the bumpers and triggers, with the USB4 port on the left, a 3.5 mm combo jack, a microSD slot, the volume rocker and the power button.

Will a 2024 ROG Ally X grip fit the Xbox Ally X?

No. The 2025 body is 29.0 x 12.1 cm across and up to 5.09 cm thick at the grips against 28.0 x 11.1 cm and 3.69 cm for the 2024 ROG Ally X, per ASUS, and a grip sleeve is the part of a shell that wraps the thickest point. JSAUX's silicone grip for the 2024 machine says it in capitals: "Not for ROG Ally (2023) / ROG XBOX Ally / XBOX Ally X". JSAUX also sells its ModCase in a "ROG Ally X" set and a "ROG Xbox Ally/X" set as two products, and the Xbox set's listing excludes the 2024 and 2023 machines and the 2026 X20 by name.

The standard ROG Xbox Ally shares the 2025 body with the X, per ASUS, which is why six of the seven makers here name both.

Read the vent line as a claim. dbrand's is the only one a reviewer repeats. The rest are sellers' words, and two listings do not mention vents at all.
Check the carry case. JSAUX's slim carry case will not take a shell; the cases guide says which carry the machine with the charger.
Dock stands. A shell adds thickness no dock maker accounts for; the docks guide covers the stands.
Thumbsticks. dbrand sells stick grips separately; nothing here changes the sticks.

No shell here publishes a vent or trigger clearance, and ASUS publishes none for any accessory, so every "vents stay open" statement is the seller's. We found one reviewer report, Windows Central's on the dbrand Killswitch, and no owner report on any of the seven Amazon shells. Whether any shell fits inside a carry case is stated only by JSAUX, for its slim case, in the negative. How much thickness each adds is published only by dbrand.
