Owala Lid Replacement: 32 oz, and Every Other Size

Here is the thing Owala publishes and nobody says out loud: a FreeSip replacement lid has no size.

Go to Owala's own replacement-lid page and you are asked to pick a Style and a Colour. That is all. There is no ounce selector, because there is one FreeSip lid and it goes on the 16, the 24, the 32 and the 40. Every third-party lid opened for this page says the same thing in its own words, and adds the 25 oz clear Tritan to the list.

This matters because the straw is the opposite. Straws are sized and lids are not, so the person who breaks a lid and orders "the 32 oz one" is solving a problem they do not have, while the person replacing a straw genuinely does need to know their ounces.

The second thing on that page is an absence. Owala's style list runs FreeSip, Flip, SmoothSip Slider, Sway 30 oz, Sway 40 oz and Tumbler 40 oz. There is no FreeSip Twist lid, first-party or third-party, and Owala does sell a FreeSip Twist straw, so this is a specific gap rather than a line it has not got round to.

Before you buy a lid

Most people who need a lid need a stopper.

Try the seal first. The part that fails on a FreeSip lid is usually the silicone stopper or the ring behind it, not the plastic body. A six-pack of stoppers costs a fraction of a lid and fixes most leaks. Owala sells its own spout gasket as a separate part, which is the same admission.
Ignore the ounces on a FreeSip lid. One lid, four stainless sizes, plus the Tritan.
Do not ignore the ounces on the straw. If the lid came with straws, check they are your size before you throw the old one away.
Know your line, not your size. Sway, Tumbler, Flip and SmoothSip each take a different lid, and only the 40 oz Sway has a third-party option on this page.
"Flip Top Cap" is a mechanism, not a bottle. Several listings here use it. None of them is a lid for the Owala Flip.

Read straight off the Style selector on Owala's replacement-lid page on 2026-07-29:

So for four of the six styles Owala makes, Owala is the only source we found, and for the FreeSip Twist there is no source at all. That is why the manufacturer's own lid is named on this page without a link: it is the answer for a lot of readers and we have nowhere to send you for it.

The Tritan question, answered by an owner rather than by Owala. Someone with a stainless FreeSip lid and a Tritan body tried it and reported back: "lid fits. Straw too big." That is one owner and it is not a specification, but it lines up with every third-party listing here naming the 25 oz Tritan alongside the stainless sizes.

If the lid is not the problem

A lid that leaks after a new stopper is a lid that needs replacing. A lid that will not go on is usually the wrong line rather than the wrong size. And if what broke was the straw, that is the one part in this cluster where the ounces genuinely matter, and it has its own guide: replacement straws.

Do I need to know my size to buy an Owala lid?

Not for a FreeSip. Owala's own replacement-lid page offers a Style and a Colour and no size at all, so one lid covers the 16, 24, 32 and 40 oz stainless bottles. You do need to know your line: a Sway, Tumbler, Flip or SmoothSip lid is a different part.

Is there a replacement lid for the FreeSip Twist?

We could not find one anywhere. Owala's style list covers FreeSip, Flip, SmoothSip Slider, both Sway sizes and the 40 oz Tumbler, and stops. It does sell a FreeSip Twist replacement straw, so the omission is specific to the lid.

Why does searching for a Flip lid return FreeSip lids?

Because sellers call the FreeSip mechanism a "flip top cap". Every listing that phrase surfaced in this scan was a FreeSip lid, not a lid for the Owala Flip bottle. If you own a Flip, Owala is the only source we found.

Will a stainless FreeSip lid go on a Tritan bottle?

One owner tried exactly that and reported "lid fits. Straw too big." Every third-party lid on this page also names the 25 oz clear Tritan alongside the stainless sizes. Owala publishes nothing on it, so treat the straw half as the part to check.
