Which Ninja Slushi Vessel Fits Your Machine

Ninja sells two replacement vessels for this machine. They have the same title, the same photograph, the same price and the same stated compatibility, and they fit different generations of the same appliance. The only thing that separates them is a small raised mark on the back of the vessel you already own. That is the entire content of this page and it is worth more than anything we could sell you, which is convenient, because we cannot sell you anything here at all: no Amazon listing exists for either part, from Ninja or from anybody else, and searching the part numbers returns a transmission pan and a fridge fan motor. So this guide names the parts, tells you which one is yours, and sends you to Ninja. It also draws a line it will not cross. Owners have established that the vessel was revised to remove a residue-trapping lip, and Ninja documents two vessel generations, and no source anywhere connects those two facts. Ninja lists this part for FS301, FS301C and FS299, and prints exactly the same list on the other 88 oz vessel, so the model number cannot tell you which one to buy. Only the raised marking can. Ninja's instruction, verbatim: remove the vessel using the bail handle, turn it to view the back, the side with the largest opening, with the dispense handle facing away from you, and look for an identifying mark to the right of the large opening on the flat section. The marking is raised but clear. If there is no marking, or the marking is W2, this is your part. If it is W3, D3 or K3, order 844DN300 instead. Owners really do get this wrong: one bought a replacement reservoir direct from Ninja and reported back that it did not fit the machine.

Its listing states that if your vessel shows W3, D3 or K3 this part is compatible, and that if there is no marking or a W2 you should go to 909AD300C instead. Note what this does and does not tell you. It confirms Ninja changed the vessel at some point. It does not say what changed, and no Ninja document we have read links either marking to the interior lip owners complain about. Anyone telling you that one of these two part numbers is the fix for a mould-trapping lip is going beyond what is published.

How to tell which vessel you need

Do this before you order anything. It takes under a minute.

Lift the vessel off the base using the bail handle.
Turn it so you are looking at the back, which is the side with the largest opening, with the dispense handle facing away from you.
Look to the right of that large opening, on the flat section of the vessel back. The mark is raised but clear, so catch it in the light or run a thumb over it.
Read it. No mark at all, or W2, means part 909AD300C. W3, D3 or K3 means part 844DN300.

Two things to know about why this procedure exists. Ninja prints the identical compatibility line, FS301, FS301C and FS299, on both listings, so your model number genuinely cannot tell you which to buy. And the mark works even if you have no idea which model you own, which matters, because owners overwhelmingly describe their machine by capacity or by the shop they bought it from rather than by an FS number.

The lip, the revision, and what nobody has established

The most discussed fault on this machine is a seam inside the vessel that traps residue and grows mould. Owners have compared notes and concluded that Ninja quietly revised the vessel to remove the lip: one owner with two machines bought some time apart reports the first has it and the second does not.

Separately, Ninja documents two vessel generations, identified by the mark above, without ever saying what changed between them.

Those are almost certainly the same event described from opposite sides. Which mark corresponds to the lipless revision is not established by any official source, and we are not going to assert it. We could make a plausible-sounding case either way, and it would be a guess dressed as a fitment fact, sending somebody to a part number on the strength of our reasoning rather than on the strength of evidence.

What this means in practice: order the vessel that matches the mark on the one you have. That gets you a vessel that seats. It does not promise you a vessel without the lip, and anybody telling you which number does is going beyond what has been published. It is the most valuable open question on this machine and it is still open.

What we could not verify

Three things, and they compound. Which mark is the revised vessel, as above. Which mark ships with which capacity or which retailer, so that an owner who has already sent the vessel back has no way to work it out. And whether the generation change affects anything that seats against the vessel, such as a tray or a spout: every third-party part claims compatibility by model number alone, and model number is exactly what has been shown not to determine vessel fit.

One correction worth carrying away. Ninja support has told at least one owner that the reservoir is not replaceable and that the only remedy is a new machine. That is wrong. It is replaceable, as one of the two part numbers on this page, and the difficulty was never availability of the part but knowing which of two identical listings to choose.

How do I know which Ninja Slushi vessel to buy?

By the raised mark on the back of the vessel you already own, not by your model number. Lift the vessel off using the bail handle, turn it so the side with the largest opening faces you and the dispense handle faces away, and look on the flat section just right of that opening. No mark or W2 means 909AD300C. W3, D3 or K3 means 844DN300.

Why will my model number not tell me which vessel fits?

Because Ninja prints the same compatibility line on both parts. Each of the two 88 oz vessels lists FS301, FS301C and FS299. Two listings, one title, one photograph, one price and identical stated compatibility, for parts that fit different generations. The mark is the only thing that distinguishes them.

Which vessel is the newer one without the lip?

Nobody has established that, and we are not going to guess. Owners have worked out that a revision happened and that later machines do not have the residue-trapping lip. Ninja separately documents two generations without saying what changed. No source connects them. Order by the mark on your own vessel, which gets you a part that seats.

Can I buy a Ninja Slushi vessel on Amazon?

No. A survey of more than a thousand Slushi listings, including searches on Ninja's own part numbers, found no 88 oz vessel for sale from Ninja, from a third party or from a marketplace reseller. The part numbers themselves return unrelated hardware. Ninja direct is the only channel.

Will a 72 oz vessel fit my Ninja Slushi?

Not if you have an FS301. The 72 oz vessels are FS300 and FS300C parts and Ninja lists them for nothing else. The trap is that one owner guide covers both series, so the manual in your box names the other machine, and owners have separately reported that the tanks in versions sold by different retailers are not interchangeable.
