Drip Trays That Fit the Ninja Slushi

Almost every third-party drip tray sold for this machine says it fits the FS301 and the FS300. Ninja does not agree, and it says so in the only place that counts, which is its own parts catalogue. Ninja stocks one drip tray for the FS301 and a different one, under a different part number, for the FS300, and the two listings are identical in every other respect: same name, same photograph, same description word for word. Set that against the parts Ninja is happy to cross. The spout is one part for both machines. The condensation tray is one part for both machines. Each of those names the FS300 and the FS301 on a single listing. So the cross-model claim this whole category makes is a claim Ninja itself makes for some Slushi parts and declines to make for this one. That is not the same as saying the sellers are wrong, and this guide will not say that either, because an aftermarket tray is a different moulding and may well drop into both. It is to say the claim has nothing published behind it, that nobody selling one mentions the split, and that you should know which half of the sentence is verifiable before you order. The listing also carries the one height-shaped figure Ninja publishes anywhere for this machine, "Fits an average 7.5" margarita glass", and it comes with three caveats that travel with it everywhere. It describes a glass Ninja considers to fit, not a clearance anybody measured. It appears on a parts listing and never in the owner guide. And it is repeated word for word on the FS300 tray listing, a different part for a different machine, which makes it copy across a product line rather than a measurement taken on your Slushi.

Ninja lists its own FS301 drip tray, part 557DN300, for the FS301, FS301C and a set of adjacent CL and CO models, and lists a separate tray, part 405DN300, for the FS300 and FS300C only. On Ninja's own catalogue the trays for those two machines are different parts. That does not make the seller wrong: this is a third-party moulding, not Ninja's, and it may well drop into both. It means the FS300 half of the claim has nothing published behind it. For an FS301 the claim is the one the seller is most specific about, and the listing states its own diameter, so measure the recess in your factory tray before ordering rather than trusting either of us.

What to check before you buy

Four questions, and the first one catches most of the mistakes in this category.

  • Which tray do you actually mean? There are two, and owners confuse them constantly. The drip tray is the circular one at the front that catches what comes out of the spout. The condensation tray is the one that slides under the vessel and collects condensation. They are different parts with different part numbers, and this guide is about the first.
  • Insert or whole tray? Roughly half of this shelf is a stainless grate that drops into the tray you already own, and the photographs do not distinguish the two. One listing here is honest enough to put "Tray NOT included" in its title. The rest are not.
  • Read the model, then read it again. A dozen trays for the Slushi MAX come back on a search for this one. They are good trays for a different machine, and Ninja itself draws the line: the compatibility list on its own Slushi travel tote ends by saying the accessory does not fit the SLUSHi XL or the SLUSHi MAX.
  • Measure your own tray recess. Several sellers publish an insert diameter. Nobody can check it against a Ninja figure, because every Ninja parts page in this family prints the same same dummy dimensions, which are plainly not real. Your own ruler is the only thing here that is not somebody's marketing.

Which Slushi parts really do cross the FS300 and FS301

This is the useful part of the page, and it takes two minutes to read and saves a return.

One owner guide covers the FS301 Series and the FS300 Series. The document in your box literally says it is also suitable for the other machine. That single fact is why the aftermarket treats the two as interchangeable, and it is why so many listings pair them. But a shared manual is not a shared parts list, and Ninja publishes the parts list separately.

From Ninja's own compatibility lines, part by part:

  • Spout: crosses. One part, and its listing names the FS300 and the FS301 together.
  • Condensation tray: crosses. Same, one part named for both.
  • Drip tray: does not cross. Two part numbers, 557DN300 on the FS301 side and 405DN300 for the FS300 and FS300C only.
  • Auger: does not cross. Same split again, two part numbers with the same listing title.
  • Vessel: does not cross. The FS301 takes an 88 oz vessel and the FS300 a 72 oz one.

So a listing saying "fits FS300 and FS301" is corroborated by Ninja when it is a spout or a condensation tray, and contradicted by Ninja when it is a drip tray, an auger or a vessel. Nobody in the market publishes that distinction. It is derivable from Ninja's own pages by anyone willing to open six of them, and no seller has.

The honest limit: a third-party tray is not Ninja's tray. It is a different moulding and it may genuinely suit both recesses where Ninja's own part does not. What we can tell you is what Ninja's lists say, and that the broader claim has no published basis in either direction.

What we could not verify

Three things, and the first is the one that would change advice.

Whether the two FS301 vessel generations affect anything that seats against the vessel. Ninja documents two 88 oz vessels identified only by a raised mark on the back, and every third-party tray claims compatibility on model number alone, which is exactly the identifier that has been shown not to determine vessel fit. Nothing we have read establishes whether tray fit is affected. Nobody has asked the question in public.

Whether any of the larger replacement trays actually improves anything. They are sold against a complaint owners genuinely volunteer, that the original circular tray is small, and a bigger tray plainly holds more. Whether it sits as stably, or whether the extra footprint costs you counter space you wanted, is not something anyone has reported and not something we test.

And the clearance under the spout. Ninja publishes no height, no clearance and no maximum cup size for this machine anywhere in the owner guide. The one figure that exists, the 7.5 in margarita glass on the tray listing, is a description of a glass rather than a measurement, and Ninja prints the identical sentence on the FS300 tray, a different part for a different machine. If you own one and put a ruler to it, that measurement would settle a question this machine has had open since launch.

Does a Ninja Slushi drip tray fit both the FS301 and FS300?

Ninja's own trays do not. It stocks 557DN300 for the FS301 and FS301C, and 405DN300 for the FS300 and FS300C only, with the two listings otherwise identical word for word. Nearly every aftermarket tray claims both machines anyway. That claim is not necessarily false, because a third-party tray is a different moulding, but nothing published supports it and Ninja is the only party with the moulds.

What is the difference between the drip tray and the condensation tray?

The drip tray is the circular one at the front that catches what the spout drips. The condensation tray slides under the vessel and catches condensation off the cold vessel. Not from Ninja. A survey of more than a thousand Slushi listings found no first-party Ninja tray of any kind, so the official part is a Ninja-direct purchase. What Amazon has instead is a large aftermarket: stainless inserts that drop into the tray you own, and larger replacement trays that change the footprint in front of the machine.
