Buying a boot that actually stays on

Match the base, not the brand.

  • Size first. A boot cut for 40 oz sits loose on a 20 oz cup. Buy the size, or buy one of the multi-size boots that lists 20, 30 and 40 oz together.
  • The IceFlow is fair game. A Quencher boot fits the older IceFlow off the shared base, whatever Stanley customer service says. The newer IceFlow 2.0 is slightly narrower, so expect a looser fit there.
  • Ignore the brand list. Titles name Stanley, and often Yeti, Owala and Hydro Flask too, because a base of a given diameter is a base. The diameter is the fit; the brand list is marketing.
  • Stanley's own boot is a bundle. There is no standalone Stanley boot; the first-party option is a Boot and Straw Cover Set on its own site, so a third-party boot is the Amazon answer today.

A reply confirms it on the 40 oz IceFlow too.

Where it stops is the newer generation. A second thread reports a boot "supposed to fit 30 and 40oz quenchers" sitting loose because "the new iceflows are just a tiny bit narrower than before." So the carry is real on the established cups and marginal on the IceFlow 2.0, and we label it that way rather than promising a universal fit.

Stanley, for its part, sells the boot only bundled with straw covers, size-locked, on its own site, and makes no IceFlow claim at all. That the cross-line answer comes from owners rather than the maker is the whole reason a page like this exists.
