What to check before you buy

Pick the job, then confirm the generation.

Shell, grip or kit. A shell is minimal protection; a grip changes how the console feels in your hands; a kit is the one-order option with a bag and protector included.
Name the Pocket 5. A case for the Pocket 4 or Pocket 3 Plus has its cutouts in the wrong places. Buy the one that names your model.
Mind the feedback. Two of the cases here are new with few reviews. They are real and in stock, but they are options rather than proven favourites.
A grip and a bag may not mix. A built-up grip adds bulk, so check it against a slim pouch before you count on packing both.
Add a protector too. A grip or shell does nothing for the screen; the Pocket 5 screen protectors guide covers the glass.

Why a Pocket 4 case will not fit

The retro-handheld aisle lists cases for several Retroid generations in one search, and a moulded shell is only as compatible as its cutouts. The Pocket 5 body differs from the Pocket 4 and the Pocket 3 Plus in the placement of buttons, sticks and ports, so a shell cut for one of those fouls a control or leaves a port covered on the Pocket 5.

Retroid does not publish a case-cutout drawing, so the exact overlap is not something documents can settle. The practical signal is the model name in the title, exactly as with the screen protectors: buy the one that says Pocket 5 and treat anything naming only an older Pocket as the wrong part.

What we could not verify

We have not fitted any of these cases. Our first scan could not read the best-reviewed listings at all; the 2026-08-31 re-scan could, and what it found reshaped this page: Retroid's own hard shell has the deepest feedback in the category and read Currently unavailable, so it is recorded without a link, and RLSOCO's well-reviewed case read as shipping in one to two months, so it is not published. The linked cases read as in stock and name the Pocket 5, but every fit is the seller claim rather than ours.
